On a good day weather wise Moston Brook FC (Senior Section) started their league season in the ‘Lancashire & Cheshire AFL’ on Saturday 19th September 2020. All the teams had to play away due to the Academy still not being available.

The 1st XI in who play in Division 1 took their new look team to Astley Sports Village to play Dukinfield Athletic. They had a good opening result beating their opponents 6-3 with goals from Max Davidson (2), Ben Crosby, Keelan Steenson, Jack Ward & a penalty from Greg Street.

The 2nd XI played Salford Storm’s 1st XI at Stott Lane Playing Fields in what was a tight encounter in Division ‘A’. They won the match 1-0 through a Kearney McCartney second half penalty. Chris Kennedy was the Moston Man of the match having a fine game in goal.

The 3rd XI played AFC Oldham’s 3rd XI in a Division ‘B’ fixture. Another 1-0 victory was secured with a goal from Callum O’Connor.

The 4th XI didn’t have a league fixture in Division ‘D’ so a friendly was arranged against Chadderton Park FC on Crossley Playing Fields. They had a comfortable victory 5-1 on the day.

A good start to the season with (4) victories.
